Friendly Frog

We have had a frog show up in the garage at the child care, it is a very persistent frog.
On Tuesday I though I heard a frog inside so I followed the sound and ended up at the garage door. I opened the door to see if I could still hear it. I heard it loud and clear but had to figure out where he was.
I went into the garage and walked to were I though it might be and sure enough it was sitting there on a black bag in the garage by the door. I picked him up and took him back outside to the grass and assumed I would never see him again :)
On Thursday Darlene went out to the garage and moved the black bag " Its back" said Darr "who" I said, "the frog". I picked the frog up and took him outside the gate and walked down the alley and put the frog in the ditch.... By by frog.
Today I went to put spooky eyes on the garage windows while decorating for Halloween. Darr says " I wonder if the frog is back" playing around I moved the black bag... guess what... our friend was back on the black bag... lol. So this morning we put our frog friend in a jar and me and three of the kids took a walk to the end of the street and let the frog go in the park. We are very very curious to see if our friend returns.

HALLOWEEN

We finished our apple unit and now we will be moving on to a FUN theme... HALLOWEEN!

We will be decorating the child care with spooky fun. We are going to be doing a haunted house and ghost theme.

This is our first Halloween art project.

Fall is in the air...

We are finishing out our apple theme this week. Today we are going to complete our hanging apples this is a fun craft to do, there is a lot of cutting for the teachers but the fun part is painting the apple pieces and putting everything together. We will post pictures of the complete project.

We have one last project to do to complete our apple theme.
We have been reading the story of Johnny Appleseed for the past two weeks and now that the children know the legend of Johnny Appleseed the man who wore a pot for a hat, they will make Johnny Appleseed paper bag puppets.

Halloween is just around the corner so we will be decorating the child care and getting started on lots of fun Halloween arts and crafts and to top it off on Halloween day we will have the children trick-or-treat from room to room and enjoy yummy treats and have a fun party.

The next few months at Discovery Playschool are busy busy with all the Holidays approaching we have tons of fun things planned.

We Created a brochure for the Child Care this week and here in the Final product. Darleen did a wonderful job!

 Here is just a sample of our art stock... we have a big closet full of art supplies. Who doesn't love getting art work from their preschooler?

The art room. We are very creative and artistic here at Discovery Playschool... we LOVE our arts and crafts.

The Diner... this is fun too, has a fun little jukebox, burgers, fries and ice cream.

We like to bring the kitchen out in to the main room and set it up with a table and chairs and take out our BIG box of toys food and dishes.

We have lots of fun activities to choose from. Lots of hands on materials, games, floor puzzles, manipulatives and lots of fun table toys

We love our outside time here at Discovery Playschool. There is lots of room to run and play. Our backyard includes lots of structures to climb on, play in and play on. There are enough bikes and cars for all to ride. We also have apple, cherry, plum and pear trees.

THE famous RV, this is the 2nd most favorite toy on the playground, the children enjoy going on long trips and cooking in the kitchen... oh the imagination of a child is wonderful.
